Creation and Use of Service-based Distributed Interactive Workspaces
نویسندگان
چکیده
Distributed Interactive Workspaces (DIWs) are interactive environments, accessible through different devices, where end users create new content by exploring and aggregating data retrieved from distributed resources in the Web, tailor this content to their own personal needs, use it on different devices, and possibly share and co-create it with others. The need for collaborating with other people by means of DIWs is an important requirement that emerged in field studies conducted in different domains. This paper shows the extension of a platform for mashup composition to support collaboration trough DIWs. In particular, it considers the possibility of producing annotated versions of DIWs, to add specific information and make it available to others without corrupting the original resources. It also investigates techniques for asynchronous collaboration that enable a distributed execution of the created interactive workspaces on different devices and by different users.

Distributing the User Interface Logics along Actionable Components: the EFESTO Approach
Developing interactive systems is a very tough task. In particular, the development of user interfaces (UIs) is one of the most time consuming aspects in the software lifecycle. Software development is more and more moving toward composite applications. In this paper, we present a mashup model that enables the integration at the presentation layer of specific UI components. As application of th...
متن کاملHF-Blocker: Detection of Distributed Denial of Service Attacks Based On Botnets
Abstract—Today, botnets have become a serious threat to enterprise networks. By creation of network of bots, they launch several attacks, distributed denial of service attacks (DDoS) on networks is a sample of such attacks. Such attacks with the occupation of system resources, have proven to be an effective method of denying network services. Botnets that launch HTTP packet flood attacks agains...

Services mashup and content composition are becoming important in modern interactive systems. Such techniques allow people to better satisfy their contextual needs. This paper presents motivation, objective, challenges and current status of PhD research, which started a few months ago and will last for about three years. I will be working to identify models, technologies and interaction paradig...
متن کاملInvestigation Into Scheduling for an Interactive Computing System
This paper describes a statistical evaluation of the performance of the swap scheduling algorithm of an interactive computer system and an investigation into foreground-background scheduling to improve system performance. Input traffic, computer service time demands, and system performance were statistically analyzed. Based on the results of these analyses performance enhancements for the syste...
متن کاملOntology-Based Creation of 3D Content in a Service-Oriented Environment
In this paper, an environment for semantic creation of interactive 3D content is proposed. The environment leverages the semantic web techniques and the SOA paradigm to enable ontology-based modeling of 3D objects and scenes in distributed web-based environments. The proposed solution combines visual and declarative approaches to 3D content creation. The possible use of various ontologies and k...
